I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in New York City.
My university background is in clinical and cross-cultural psychology and was strongly inspired by psychoanalysis. I decided to specialize in systemic family therapy and in trauma treatment. I am also trained in EMDR (Eyes Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing.)
I worked for ten years as a Mental Health Counselor in police departments with adults, teens and families in Paris, France. My clients came with various concerns:
In New York City, I have been leading psycho-education groups in a psychiatry unit at Bellevue Hospital. I also interpret psychotherapy sessions (French-English) at the Bellevue/NYU Program for Survivors Of Torture. I opened my private practice as I want to continue this fascinating and inspiring work of helping people to improve their quality of life and their well being.
The therapeutic environment is designed to make the patient feel safe, confident, and free to express thoughts, feelings and a genuine self.
I describe my therapy practice as integrative. I am inspired by psychoanalysis and systems theory. However I don't hesitate to use tools from other therapeutic approaches, if it may benefit the patients.
